How to Purchase the Alaska Airlines Saver Fare?
At first, keep in mind that Saver Fares are only available on select routes. That is to say, for the rest of the flights, Main Cabin is the least expensive fare class.
In order to purchase an Alaska Airlines Saver Fare:
- Firstly, visit the official Alaska Airlines website.
- Secondly, under the Book tab, select your travel details & select Find Flights.
- Type of Trip
- Round Trip
- Apply Miles
- Origin Airport
- Destination Airport
- Date/s of Travel
- Number of Passengers
- Type of Trip
- Thirdly, look for the flight you prefer & select the Saver Fare. Then, click on either Continue with Saver Fare & select Add to Cart.
- Fourthly, review your flight details, scroll down & select Next.
- Then, fill in your Mileage Plan login details or click on Continue as Guest.
- After that, fill in your personal information.
- Date of Birth
- Contact Information
- Email Address
- Once you’ve filled in all the information, select Continue. Then, on the next page, select seats in advance if you prefer & pay any fee. After that, click on Save & Purchase.
- Lastly, review your booking details, then scroll down, fill in your payment information & complete the payment.

Limitations on the Alaska Airlines Saver Fares
As discussed above, the Saver Fares allows most of the amenities of the Main Cabin Fares. However, there are several limitations on the said fare class. Therefore, let’s discuss these limitations.
- Firstly, the passengers with Saver Fares are the last group to board the aircraft. Thus, there is only limited space available in the overhead cabin for them.
- Secondly, Saver Fares passengers are also the last to deboard the aircraft upon landing.
- Thirdly, only a limited number of seats are available to Saver Fares passengers for selection. Therefore, the majority of the fare holders are unable to select a seat. And thus, the airline assigns them seats at check-in.
- Fourthly, the airline cannot guarantee that passengers on the same booking will get adjacent seats.
- Also, Saver Fares are not eligible for refunds past the 24-hour cooling-off period. That is to say; passengers can only claim refunds within 24-hours of booking.
- In addition to that, Saver Fares are not eligible for changes under any condition.
- Regardless of the guest’s elite status, Saver Fare passengers are not eligible for Standby.
- Also, in the case of Saver Fare, passengers deemed as a no-show.
- At first, the remaining segments of their fare are canceled.
- In addition, they are not eligible for any kind of refund.
- Most importantly, any itinerary with Saver fare cannot have any other type of fare. That is to say if a passenger selects Saver fare for a segment of the flight. Then, every other segment needs to be Saver fare too.
- Lastly, passengers cannot transfer the ownership of their Saver fare to someone else.

In short, the Alaska Airlines Saver Fare is the most basic ticket the airline offers. However, that’s not so bad. Instead, you get many of the Main Cabin fare services.
Although there are downsides to purchasing this ticket,
• Firstly, they are only available on a few of the routes of Alaska Airlines.
• Secondly, there are several limitations to this ticket class.
To summarize, yes, passengers may cancel their Alaska Airlines Saver Fare anytime they wish. However, keep in mind that the Saver Fares are non-refundable.
Therefore, passengers must cancel their fares within 24-hours of booking if they wish to claim a refund.
In short, the process of cancelation for saver fare is the same as any other fare class. For example, in order to cancel your fare on Alaska Airlines:
• Firstly, visit the official website for Alaska Airlines, and select Manage.
• Secondly, put in your booking details & click on Continue.
o Last Name of the Passenger
o Confirmation Code/E-Ticket Number
• Thirdly, after the website retrieves your booking, click on Cancel/Cancel Flight.
• Then, follow the instructions to complete the Cancel request.
Once the airline processes your cancelation request, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
To summarize, like most airlines, Alaska Airlines has a 24-hour cooling-off period. To clarify, passengers can cancel & claim a refund on any fare class within 24-hours of booking.
However, since May 1st, 2021, Alaska Airlines has removed the cancelation fee. Regardless of the time of the cooling-off period. Although, for Saver Fare, cancelation is only eligible within 24-hours of booking.
In short, no, Alaska Airlines do not charge passengers for seat selection, except in specific circumstances:
• Firstly, the airline may charge Alaskan Airlines Saver fare passengers for seat selection.
• Secondly, if the passenger selects a seat belonging to a different fare class, the airline will charge them.
