List of essentials needed while packing stuff for a tour around the world!
How can you differentiate a first-time traveler from a pro? Just look at his backpack. Packing stuff and leaving a location is a matter of minutes & for first-time travelers, it is essential to pack things that are absolute necessities. Take it as an 80-20 rule. Pack 20% of the items that will take care of 80% of the situations.
However, to help you with the same- this blog will have some items that may come as a blessing to plan your world tour with comfort. Go through this blog and come back to it whenever you want a revision.
We are going back to the basics. So, your backpack should be of high quality. Thus, Invest in a top-notch quality backpack. It is better if it has a separate compartment for your electronics. Use every inch of your backpack and do not stuff things into it.
Shoe matters but here we are not talking about first impressions. We are talking about quantity and quality here. So, try to limit yourself to three pairs that will cater to various seasons and activities. Pick the one strong enough for the activities (hiking, trekking) and have a nice appeal to them. A pair of flip-flops can act as indoor slippers and something for hot and humid places.
This one is especially for our female readers. Packing a sarong will come as a godsend gift to you. Your sarong can become your beach cover-up, travel towel, emergency bedsheet, sun protection for those scorching hot days, and a cool fashion accessory. It can also act as a fleece for when the temperature suddenly drops on the plane. You can also use it as a delicate scarf for those Instagram pictures. Thank us later.
We cannot emphasize the importance of toiletries enough. Some people make the silly mistake of packing low-quality toiletries and later regretting. Low-quality bottles will affect the quality of your products as well as can break inside the bag. There are supermarkets almost everywhere so you can buy travel-size items such as sunscreen there but not everything. You might use a particular shampoo that is not available everywhere. Buy high-quality toiletries for a hassle-free journey. As the last thing you want on your trip is a leaking bottle.
It is normal to get a little paranoid and overpack medicines, but we are here to tell you that there is no need to pack more than necessary. Always have some sort of disinfectant in your kit. Also, don’t forget to pack anti-biotics such as Ibuprofen, aspirin, and Azithromycin. Pack band-aids, gauze, and antiseptic ointment.
This one is for our female readers as well, although we think everyone should carry these two items. The first is Door Stop and the second is a Safety Whistle. Buy a doorstop to make sure the door is properly locked in your hotel room. Sometimes the door does not latch properly.
A safety whistle will keep the creeps away. Both the items are easily available online and in supermarkets.
You should never take sunburn as a joke. Apart from sunscreen, try to protect your face by packing a hat. It does not take much space in your bag. Also, it can serve multiple purposes such as a basket to keep dry things, to cover your face when you need to shut an eye. Go for a wide-brimmed one.
Keep Scanned copy of Prescriptions
If you have any allergies or minor illnesses, make sure to carry a prescription so that you can get a refill anywhere. We would advise you to stock up to 3 months of supply and have a detailed idea of where you could find them. Get your prescriptions scanned and keep multiple copies of them since some countries do not allow purchasing some drugs without a prescription.
Contacts and Glasses
Pack a year’s worth of contact with you. They do not take much space. Carry a small bottle for the contact solution as you can find it anywhere. Pack two pairs of glasses in case one break. Make sure the glasses are of good quality and are sturdy. This is not the time to go for delicate frames. Carry cases for your glasses. You can buy foldable glasses. They are flexible and look stylish.
Help For Your Electronic Devices
Carry adapters and chargers for your laptops, camera, and smartphones. You never know which hotel has which kind of outlets. It is best to stay prepared. Carry a rechargeable battery pack for your phone and other chargeable devices. Make sure you buy a small one.
Devices Besides Laptop And Smartphone
We would highly recommend taking Kindle with you. It is less cheap than the iPad mini and has great storage. We know nothing comes closer to the smell of a book, but this is the second-best thing in the world. Carry a water purifier. There are a lot of portable ones in the market. Invest in a good-quality one and you are good to go.
This brings us to the end of this blog. We hope you include all these things in your packing list. Feel the lightness of being in its truest form. Follow the 80-20 rule and you will be fine. Do let us know if you find these tips helpful.
