Airlines Requirements For Pets
The pets flying with United airlines need a health certificate, a rabies certificate, and the complete vaccination certificate 30 days or more before the flight and it should not be expired.
The pet traveling with united airlines cannot be less than 4 months old and the pet carrier size should be appropriate to fit under the seat. Pet carrier is considered as a piece of carry-on baggage. One pet is allowed in a carrier. For two or more pets, passengers can purchase an extra ticket.
Pets on United airlines flights are not allowed in the cabin with passengers on flights from or through New Zealand, Guam, Hawaii, Australia, India, Cuba, Soanama, Tobago, Trinidad, Tahiti, and the United Kingdom.
Pets cannot travel in the United Airlines’ business and first-class flights for Boeing 747, 757, 767, and 777. This is because the space under the seat is less.
The dog or cat needs to meet all the requirements led by the united airlines pet policy. The airline should approve the pet carrier. The carrier needs to have a waterproof bottom. The pets should feel comfortable and ventilated with zippers or secure fasteners. The dimensions of the sides of the carrier allowed are 17.5* 12* 7.5 inches.
Passengers need to inform the airline in advance if they are flying with a pet. The reservations can be done online or by calling on the reservations number. Inform the airline of your pet travel as soon as possible as there is a limited pet allowance. Passengers with pets are not permitted to sit in bulkhead seats or the seats with exit rows.
Passengers can check-in for pets at the airport check-in counter as check-in for animals is not applicable at the curbside. The passenger needs to pay the fee for pet travel at the check-in counter. The airline considers pet carriers as an additional carry-on item.

$125 is the fee charged for carrying pets on United Airlines flights. Passengers need to pay the fees for a pet traveling along at the reservations counter at the time of check-in.
Service Dogs Policy
Trained service animals are allowed to travel in the cabin with the passenger with disabilities. Dogs can only travel as service animals.
Puppies or kittens under four months of age are not allowed as service or support animals. ESA’s are only limited to dogs and cats.
No animals are allowed for emotional support after Feb 28, 2021.

United Airlines Cargo Pet Policy
Bigger size dogs and cats can also travel in cargo if they are too large for the cabin and also when they are unaccompanied.
Only cats and dogs are allowed in the cargo of United airlines.

United Airlines does not allow cargo pet service to India, Dubai, Nigeria. Of Live animals are not transported out of Seoul and Chengdu. They are also not transported in or out of Shanghai until the temperatures fall.
United Airlines is not flying cargo animals in the Boeing 787 aircraft until further notice.
For the pets traveling in the cargo of united airlines flights, reservations need to get done at least 5 to 30 days before the departure. All the international travel bookings need to get done through an IPATA agent.
Only one pet (dog or cat) is allowed to travel in one crate. Two puppies or kittens can be transported in one crate together if they are lesser than six months old and weigh less than 9kg each.
Kittens and puppies must not be less than ten weeks old and at least 2 pounds to be allowed for domestic travel. For all the international flights proof is required for rabies vaccination. The proof should be within three months from the date of travel. Kittens and puppies are not allowed to travel with United airlines internationally until 30 days of rabies vaccination.
All the documents are required for the destination country if the pet is flying internationally.
Pet carriers must be wooden, metal, or plastic. The pet should comfortably stand and walk around in the carrier without touching the top. A crate size taller than 34 inches is not accepted.
